- Hike for Youth
The Hike for Youth is a collaborative “hike-a-thon” benefiting five environmentally focused youth agencies serving the Denver/Boulder metro areas. On September 15, 2007 500 individuals will hike to support programs connecting youth to the outdoors. Hikers will have the opportunity to lace up their boots and “hike for youth” on a variety of trails to raise money for the five benefiting agencies by soliciting pledges for participating in the event. MHYC is one of the Hike for Youth benefiting agencies.
- AmeriCorps
AmeriCorps is a network of national service programs that engage more than 50,000 Americans each year in intensive service to meet critical needs in education, public safety, health, and the environment. AmeriCorps members serve through more than 2,100 nonprofits, public agencies, and faith-based organizations. They tutor and mentor youth, build affordable housing, teach computer skills, clean parks and streams, run after-school programs, and help communities respond to disasters. Created in 1993, AmeriCorps is part of the Corporation for National and Community Service, which also oversees Senior Corps and Learn and Serve America. Together these programs engage more than 2 million Americans of all ages and backgrounds in service each year.
- Colorado Youth Corps Association (CYCA)
The Colorado Youth Corps Association develops and maintains the statewide capacity of a network of 10 locally operated youth conservation corps programs that work to preserve and enhance Colorado's environment. CYCA connects local corps to funders and public land managers and coordinates statewide youth corps activities.
- National Youth Employment Coalition (NYEC)
NYEC is a non-partisan organization dedicated to promoting policies and initiatives that help youth succeed in becoming lifelong learners, productive workers and self-sufficient citizens.
- PEPNet
PEPNet is a system and an information base for identifying and promoting what works in youth employment and development. Learn more about how youth programs, policy makers, funders, and other youth professionals including Workforce Investment Boards, are using PEPNet to learn about and promote effective practices for youth.
- Save AmeriCorps Coalition
SaveAmeriCorps.org seeks to be the definitive source on the web for information on how to support and ensure the growth of AmeriCorps and national service. The website seeks to bring together supporters of AmeriCorps, as well as attract new champions, by sharing accurate and up-to-date information, facilitating conversation and cooperation, and making national service a frequently discussed issue around the county.
- The Corps Network
The Corps Network is the leader of the national youth corps community promoting growth, quality, and sustainability of corps. The Corps Network's vision is for well-funded, high-quality corps serving every community.
- YouthBuild USA
YouthBuild USA's mission is to unleash the intelligence and positive energy of low-income young people to rebuild their communities and their lives. YouthBuild USA is the national nonprofit support center and intermediary for the YouthBuild movement. It is also the home of the YouthBuild Coalition and the YouthBuild USA Affiliated Network. The goal of the YouthBuild movement is to create and sustain a broad-based national movement in support of policies and programs which enable young people to assume leadership in order to rebuild their communities and lead responsible lives.
