Position Overview: Mile High Youth Corps (MHYC) offers a leading compensation package including generous paid time off; comprehensive insurance coverage including health, dental, vision and life; 403b retirement; mental health and wellness support; professional development; hybrid work options; and a modified work schedule with alternating four- and five-day workweeks.
The YouthBuild Alumni Mentor serves as a peer leader for YouthBuild crews, working closely with staff to provide support for field-based and other programmatic activities, as well as alumni outreach, follow-up and engagement. Other primary responsibilities include providing support for YouthBuild recruitment and hiring activities.

Hours & Compensation
This is a seasonal, full-time, 32 hours/week, non-exempt position with a starting pay rate of $20.91/hour. This grant funded position will start on August 10th, 2026, and end on June 8th, 2027. Paid time off eligibility begins immediately upon hire. Medical, dental, vision, disability and life benefits are available on the 1st of the month after working 30 days. Some evenings and weekend hours may be required for Corps-related functions. Work hours are from 8-4:30p M-F; schedule will be finalized with supervisor upon hire.

Areas of Responsibility
- Assists staff in the delivery of field-based and other programmatic activities
- Conducts alumni outreach, follow-up and engagement
- Provides staff support for YouthBuild recruiting and hiring
- Provides Corpsmembers (CMs) with mentorship, training, check-ins, resource support and other activities that promote retention and success
- Provides staff with support for construction training and service site logistics including driving 12 passenger van if eligible.
- Assists with program planning and execution including national service days, all-corps service projects, community meetings, leadership retreats, and team-building activities
- Contributes to MHYC social media efforts
- Assists staff with maintaining CM databases
Organization Support:
- Promote agency mission and values in all activities
- Attend and participate in staff and community meetings and retreats
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Experience: Must be a MHYC alum
Education: High School Diploma/Equivalency
Requirements:
- Desire to further Mile High Youth Corps’ mission, vision and values
- Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds in a team atmosphere
- Must have strong communication and conflict management skills including the ability to motivate others, organize and mentor a crew of young adults on project sites, ensure safe work practices
- Able to lift 50 lbs.; conduct repetitive hand and arm motions; maneuver in tight spaces, including bending and kneeling; spend 8 hours a day outdoors in all weather conditions (e.g., sun, heat, wind, rain, etc.)
- Ability to legally work in the United States, which will be verified through the federal E-Verify system
- Pre-service background check required, which includes fingerprinting
